Serpstat is an online platform which offers SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Services like keyword analysis and research, Website analysis, backlink analysis, Rank Tracker, Site Audit and many more tools are available.
Founded in 2013 as a keyword research tool, SerpStat has evolved and grown to become one of the biggest names in SEO and PPC analysis. With a database containing more than 100 million keywords, 180 million PPC Ads, and 200 million search suggestions, it’s closely rivaling any top competitor in the industry and already boasts over 30,000 clients globally.
In this post, I’ll show you how to do keyword research with Serpstat.
1. Conventional keyword research
First of all, you need to brainstorm a few keywords that your prospects might search for. Then, enter a target keyword into the tool’s search bar, select your country, and click on ‘Search.’
From the ‘Overview’ report, go to the ‘Keyword Selection’ section to get the list of all keywords from Serpstat database that contains your queried keyword.
As you don’t need all the suggested 3.6K search terms, apply ‘Filters’ to sort the list by your specific requirements. Serpstat lets you filter the results by up to ten criteria:
- Number of results
- Competition level
- Number of words in a keyword
- Special elements in SERP
- Misspelled keywords
- Keyword difficulty
For instance, if you want to collect search terms featured snippets are showing up for, you need to apply the ‘Special elements in SERP > Includes > Featured snippet’ filter:
2. Collect LSI keywords
You don’t want to get Google penalty for keyword stuffing, do you? To avoid it, you should be very careful when using similar keywords and focus on related keywords (or so-called LSI keywords).
The Related Keywords report will provide you with all search terms and phrases semantically connected to your target keyword:
3. Consider question-based keywords
If you want to increase your chances to win featured snippets and rank for voice search queries, you should start using questions in your subheads. To collect question-based keywords, click through the ‘Content Marketing > Search Questions’ report:
4. Competitor analysis for keyword research
To identify your closest search competitors, enter your target keyword into Serpstat’s search box, select your country, and click on ‘Search.’ Then, go to ‘Keyword Research > SEO Research > Competitors’
If you click through one of the domains, you’ll see all the keywords it’s ranking for. To collect only the relevant ones and exclude brand keywords, you’ll need filters.
Serpstat has many benefits for keyword research along with various advanced features which help website owners and SEO experts reach the top of the search results. Being updated regularly, Serpstat is considered to be one of the best tools for SEO research and Keyword analysis.
