While there are plenty of photography editing software available to purchase or download for free, almost all of them come with either a steep learning curve or a complicated user-interface that is not intuitive or very easy to use. With software programs like Photoshop and Lightroom, you are required to learn how the editing tools work, just so that you can spend a few hours retouching your photography. For those who do not have the time for this, like me who want to jump in, make edits, and jump back out with a professional-looking photo, the intelligent photo enhancer that is PhotoWorks is a splendid addition to my photography tools.
What is Smart Photo Editing and How Does PhotoWorks Do It?
The main difference between Photoworks and other picture enhancer software is that they require you to sit down and learn how various tools work and how to apply them to your image. This means you will end up going through numerous tutorials, you may end up asking questions about the tools, and you may need several hours to get over the learning curve. One wrong sweep with the facial retouching tool and you could have hours’ worth of work to fix.
With Photoworks’ automatic photo editing, there is no learning required in order to use the tools as the powerful AI software does the job for you. The only thing you need to know is what features you want your photograph to have, such as a higher vibrancy, a sharper contrast, or brighter facial features. Plus, there’s an auto correction button that can identify changes that you may have not even noticed! After the auto correction is complete, sliders will appear, and you can further customize the changes from there.
What Kind of Features Can You Expect from This Image Quality Enhancer?
- Intelligent Instant Portrait Enhancement (Portrait Magic). This is one of my favourite tools that PhotoWorks has for editing portrait photographs. It uses facial recognition technology to detect individual faces and facial features, so that you can change specific sections of the face. For instance, you can whiten teeth, boost the smile, or even add color to the lips. Other image enhancer options include smoothing out skin, removing any oily shine, or removing red eyes with a single click or an easy slide.
- Unique Change Background Tool. If you have ever tried to change the background in an image, you know just how difficult and touchy it can be. It is very time-consuming work as it requires finesse during the editing process. For me, using PhotoWorks’ background change tool removes all of the frustration and all of the time it would normally take. Simply highlight around the image with the background tool to preserve the portion of the photo you want to keep, then highlight in red around the rest. Hit the remove button and voila, background is removed.
- 3D LUT Color Correction. In the enhancement tab, there is a color options tab that allows you to change the saturation of colors via sliders. You can choose from red, orange, yellow, green, aqua, blue, purple, and magenta, as well as the color balance between RGB.
- 150+ Photo Effects & Filters. Ever wanted to add an artistic flair to your photography? I know, I have and with Photoworks’ 150+ photo filters and effects, you can truly make your photography stand out and be memorable.
Photoworks also offers a lot of professional-level tools for those who are not new to photo retouching. You can use a healing brush to remove blemishes, a clone stamp to remove specific spots, and graduated & radial filters to draw attention to specific aspects of the photo. There’s also tone mapping which allows you to blend textures and a curves tool that allows you to balance both light and color. Best of all though, the intuitive interface allows you to jump right in and use all of these tools straight away! Have a photo you need retouched or want to check out these cool features, head on over to PhotoWorks and download the demo software!
