Clear Google Chrome Cache

It is always recommended to clear the Google Chrome cache at a regular interval. For the faster opening of the web page, the browser fetches the recent cache file on the particular website stored on your computer.

The browser cache is a static asset of a website. It typically doesn’t change from visit to visit. These cache files include images, HTML, CSS, and javascript.

If the Google Chrome cache files are stored for a long period of time then it may cause slow page loading in Chrome. Therefore, we should clear the Google Chrome cache from time to time to make sure that it runs smoothly.

Steps To Clear Cache In Google Chrome

Below is the step-by-step process to clear Google Chrome cache files on your desktop and mobile device.

On Desktop:

  1. Launch Google Chrome. Click on three-dots on the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Click on “More tools” in the drop down menu and click “Clear browsing data…”.
  3. A pop-up menu will appear. Choose a time range from Last hour to All time.
  4. Now you need to make sure that Cache image and files option is checked.

5. Click “Clear data”.

On Mobile.

The below-listed steps apply to mobile devices including Android, iPhone, and iPad.

1. Open the Google Chrome app. Tap the three-dots icon. On Android, it will be located on the top-right corner of the screen, and on Apple devices, the icon will be on the bottom-right of the screen.

2. Tap History and “Clear browsing data”.

3. Choose a time range accordingly. You can choose from the last hour to all time.

4. Now you need to make sure that boxes for Cookies and site data and Cached images and files are checked.

5. Tap Clear data on Android devices or Clear Browsing Data on Apple devices.

One thing you need to know is that after clearing the browsing data on Apple devices, you may get logged out of your Google Account.

By clearing Chrome’s cache, you ensure that the browser loads the recent version of the website smoothly. If you are experiencing slow page loading issues in Chrome then it is recommended to clear browsing data which will also delete cached content of the websites.
